Blog Tour - Mid-Life Love by Whitney Garcia Williams - Review & Giveaway

If you'd asked me what love was two years ago, I probably would've said, 'It's this amazing feeling that obsesses and possesses you; it's what me and my husband currently have.' If you ask me that same question today, I'll say, 'Please get the hell out of my face.’'
Claire Gracen's life is picture perfect. Her career as a marketing director is on the brink of being legendary, and her marriage to her high school sweetheart has never been stronger. No, wait. It has. It used to be amazing and fulfilling, but one day Claire realizes that she's been living a lie and her best friend and husband have committed the ultimate betrayal.
Broken and depressed, Claire is in need of something new—new city, new job, new friends
When she happens to attract the interest of the sexiest man she's ever met, a man significantly younger than her, she immediately turns him down—only to later discover that this man is Jonathan Statham, self-made billionaire and CEO of Statham Industries. Her boss.
Jonathan Statham is unlike any man she's met before. He's used to getting whatever he wants—whenever he wants, and he isn't about to take no for an answer.
Sexy, unpredictable, and charmingly clever, Mid Life Love is a story that will captivate you, entertain you, and force you to fall deeply in love with the characters.

Claire thought she had the perfect life, but in reality when all things are said and done she really was dealt a bad hand in life.  Her world was perfect.  She had her high school sweetheart that she loves and married and her two twin daughters Ashley and Caroline.  What more could a girl ask for in life?  That is until the day that her best friend's husband tells her that he needs to meet with her in a hotel.  What she discovers is that her husband is not only having an affair, but it's with her best friend. As if that isn't bad enough, the baby she's pregnant with is his baby.  Her world comes crashing down around her, so she does the only thing she can do.  She quits her job, packs up all her stuff, and drives her daughters out to San Francisco, California.

That was a few years ago.  She had to take a lower paying job as design director and she HATES her job.  Not dislikes, HATES that job.  She can't wait to pay off her mortgage and student loans so she can get the job she's always wanted as a decorator.

As if her job and life aren't bad enough, her love life is even worse.  She's tried speed dating and that doesn't work.  Little does she know that she's caught the eye of Johnathan Statham, who just so happens to be the CEO of the company she works at.   He doesn't know her name, doesn't know where she works, all he knows is that he wants her.  He finally gets his chance at the store in which he approaches her and gives his phone number.  Does she call?  Of course not.  You can imagine her surprise when she walks into a directors meeting and in walks in the man himself, Johnathan Statham.  Claire wants him, that much is obvious, but she's determined to keep him at arm's length only wanting to have sex with him and no matter how many times he asks her on a date, her answer is no.

Claire doesn't think a relationship will work, she's turning forty and he's twenty eight.  But the more she learns about Johnathan and the childhood nightmare he experienced to get where he is today, the walls around her heart begin to crumble.  Just when you think that they are getting closer to one another, a jealous woman, secrets, and someone determined to make sure they never end up together will threaten all the progress Johnathan has made to win her heart.  Will they ever be able to get past all the things that are keeping them apart, and how much will it take to show Claire that age is only a number?

This story is one of the best stories I have ever read.  I thought at first it was going to be boring, but this story held me from beginning to end.  I loved the relationship between Claire and Johnathan.  Add in her twins and her friends and it's a recipe for a fun loving book that tugs at your heart and will even bring you to tears.  The things that Claire had to go through to finally move on from a past that nearly broke her is an amazing journey that made me laugh, cry, and fall in love with the man that is Johnathan Statham.  Oh and for those of you who are interested there is LOTS of hott sex that leaves you wanting more and more and Whitney sure does give you even more than you expect.  This was the perfect read to get through a tough week and I look forward to more of her work in the future, 5 stars!
