The man was sinful. It wasn't just the looks that made him dangerous, it was the cocky confidence that dominated every move, every touch. And the frustrating yet ecstatic fact about the whole package was that he could back it all up…
Julia Campbell never knows what to expect with win-at-all-costs Brad De Luca. And she's starting to like it that way. She gave up safe, conventional relationships when she let the elite divorce attorney seduce her into his world. Now that he's determined to strip her naked of every inhibition, she's in danger of falling too deep and too fast.
But their affair begins to feel even more dangerous when a murder leaves a trail of suspicion that points straight to the mob…and Brad. Trusting a man with a bad reputation and a past full of secrets seems like a mistake. But when she's forced to make a choice, the consequences will take her further than she could ever have imagined.
REVIEW
***Warning*** This is NOT a standalone. In order to follow this story, you will need to first read Blindfolded Innocence.
Masked Innocence pretty much picks up where Blindfolded Innocence left off. Julia's internship is finally coming to a close and she has an offer to stay on part time. She has the sinful and sexy Brad De Luca at her side, and everything is looking up for her. She's let go of her reservations and has let Brad lead her into his world. That world will take her to an entirely new level, full of people at an exclusive party where she will learn that she more than capable of keeping up with Brad sexually.
But just as things are starting to look up, Julia's boss ends up dead, murdered in his office. Julia doesn't know what to do, she overheard a conversation on the phone her boss was having and what she heard could end up getting her killed. In a world full of lawyers, a crime family, and a man at the center of it all, Brad, will Julia be able to survive it all?
At first when I started reading this, I was worried it had been too long since I had read Blindfolded Innocence that I wouldn't remember the things that happened in that book. I was wrong, within an hour of reading Masked Innocence, it was easy to remember why I fell in love with Brad and started my Alessandra obsession. Brad is sinful, right down to the core. He's the type of man that will have you on your knees begging for more and as much as Julia wants to take things slow, when it comes to Brad she just can't seem to stop herself. This book wasn't what I expected, from the teasers I had read I thought this book was just going to be sex, sex, and more sex. I was surprised to find that this book was so much more than sex between two characters. Unlike with so many other trilogies, it's not the same story being told over and over again. Get together, break up, get together, break up, over and over again. That's the great thing about Alessandra's writing, you never know what to expect from her and it's always great in the end.
Brad is a very complex man, with so many secrets hidden up his sleeve. It's really hard to write about it because it would just give away too much of the story. All I'll say is this, if you loved Blindfolded Innocence as much as I did, you DO NOT want to miss Masked Innocence because it's a story I won't soon forget and leaves me excited and anticipating End of Innocence. With the way Masked Innocence ended, I know it will be great. I give this 5 amazing stars.
