Review: Undying Embrace by Jessica Lee

Arran MacLain is a vampire on a suicide mission, driven to kill his former partner who betrayed him and the Enclave they served. But two things stand in his way: Gabrielle, the human female who holds his heart, and the past that won't let him go. If only death was enough to cleanse his soul.
Gabrielle Steven's sister is missing. Her hunt for clues brings her face to face with the one vampire she can't forget. Their missions combine and thrust them into the heart of evil. Will their passion be enough to overcome the pain from their past, or will their dark desires destroy them both?

This is book two of the Enclave.  For this of you who met and fell in love with Gabrielle and Arran in Undying Destiny you will absolutely love this novel.

We were first introduced to Gabrielle and Arran in Undying Destiny.  That story was about Kenric, Emily, and the Enclave, this story is about Gabrielle and Arran.  For the enjoyment of the series and to enjoy these characters it's best to read Undying Destiny before reading Undying Embrace.

Undying Embrace picks up two years after the end of Undying Destiny.  Gabrielle is looking for her sister Alex who has been missing for the last few weeks.  Her search leads her to a club that reeks vampires.  Still human, Gabrielle can't tell for sure that's what this club is but she can tell that if her sister went missing in this club something sinister has happened to her.  It's been two years since she last saw Arran, since the night he kissed her and ran away, never to return.  It's here that she sees him again and as much as she wants to feel nothing for him she still feels the sting of his rejection.

Gabrielle came to the Enclave seven years ago after she was rescued from a DEAD and has been apart of the family since.  Arran and Logan have both loved Gabrielle for a long time, but Arran is the one that has captured her heart.  Feeling unworthy of her love, Arran doesn't allow his feeling for her to show on the surface.  As much as Gabrielle wants to run away, she wants more to find her sister and like it or not Arran is there to help her find her sister.  As their search delves deeper into the more sinister and vampire world, it becomes apparent that at the heart of the evil is none other than former Enclave member Markus and the evil vampire Marguerite.

Markus has become a cold shell of the vampire he used to be.  Cold, calculated, and completely under the spell of Marguerite the ancient evil vampire that will do anything to exact her revenge against Kenric and the Enclave.  The only shining light is Alex.  Alex was taken in my Markus and Marguerite and she's the one weakness Markus has shown.  He starts to become possessive of Alex, only allowing her to be fed by him.  Will Alex be what can finally save Markus from the evil hold Marguerite has over him?  Can Gabrielle and Arran find Alex before it's too late?  And can they finally admit their feelings for one another and find love and forever in each other's arms?

Full of passion, vampires, and the search to find oneself and heal, Undying Embrace was a novel I will not soon forget.  I cannot wait to read the next Enclave novel and continue the story of the Enclave and all the vampires I have come to love.  Jessica weaves a delicious tale that I will not soon forget and I don't really like paranormal romance, 5 stars.
