Synopsis
Carmyn Rafferty witnessed the aftermath of her mother's affair. She learned at a young age not to trust anyone. Especially not your spouse. So she's planned. She's planned every detail of her life: who her husband will be, what their careers will be, what their lives will be like. All to avoid the pain of infidelity.
Dallas Brown lives a life all his own. He doesn't do relationships, he doesn't care what anyone thinks of him, and he doesn't live up to anyone's expectations but his own.
When Carmyn's fiancé cheats on her, it sends her into a whirlwind of one-night stands with the most infamous player on campus. She can't seem to stay away from this tough guy and his dangerous motorcycle. Everything about him is the complete opposite of who she'd planned to fall in love with: tattoos, dark stubble along his jawline, and hair that brushes his shoulders.
As Dallas and Carmyn begin to fall deeper and deeper into each other, they learn that love can truly be a wicked, wicked thing.

My Review
Carmyn Rafferty has experienced the the lasting effects of her mother's affair. It's taught her not to trust others and doesn't believe in cheating. She's watched as her mother has tried to find love by selling her body for drugs and how it has destroyed her entire life.
Carmyn is able to move on with her life and is now in college. She has everything she wants in life. She's getting an accounting degree, she's happy, and she has her fiance that fits perfectly into her life plan. That is until the day she surprises Becker at his apartment and finds him locked in passionate, raw sex with some random girl in his room. Worse than that they seem to know one another on an intimate level and Carmyn discovers there have been others. Broken and devastated she walks away.
Dallas Brown's parents divorced when he was a child. He has hated his dad since the day he found out that he has another son and with his mistress. Dallas is devastated when his dad chooses to spend time with Denton instead of him, leaving Dallas only with his mother to support him as he grows up.
Dallas doesn't do relationships, he does one night stands and tells all the women he's with that he's just looking for a good time. With his long hair, motorcycle, and tattoos he has women falling all over him all the time.
But Dallas has his sites set on the one girl that he's never been able to have, Carmyn. When Carmyn and Becker break up, Dallas sees his chance and goes for it. It was only suppose to be a one time thing, both don't want a relationship with one another, but they are drawn to one another time and time again and their one night stand turns into a string of times together which ultimately leads to friendship and on the verge of so much more.
But the hurt from their pasts and Denton in the picture create a problem for both and draws them further apart from one another. Can Carmyn finally learn to let go and fall for Dallas and have the dream future she's always wanted? Can Dallas let go of his past and what his dad did and move on with his life?
At first I figured this would be like so many other college romance novels I have read. Boy meets girl, girl falls in love with guy, guy can't commit, so on and so forth. But this story was so much more complicated than that in the fact that both Carmyn and Dallas have been hurt my a parent and both aren't looking for a relationship. I loved Carmyn, she is such a strong individual who only wants the best in her life and wants to find the man of her dreams. Dallas is OMG H.O.T.T. He seems like a guy who's impossible to approach, doesn't care for women, or anyone at all for that matter. But hidden beneath it all is a man who is loyal and loving to those he cares for and never treats Carmyn as anything less than the lady she deserves. This story was amazing and I am looking forward to reading Denton's story next.
