Blog Tour - Unexpected Angel by Sloan Johnson - Review & Giveaway

Tasha Skinner finally shed the baggage of a failed marriage. Now, she’s looking forward to a night of margaritas and man-bashing. Tasha’s friends have other plans, including Leather, Lace and liberation.
Dylan Caprese didn’t want to go to Marquee, but he and his friends were on a mission. They took it upon themselves to make sure things didn’t get out of hand when wannabe Doms mixed alcohol with playtime at the monthly Leather and Lace night.
From the moment he set eyes on Tasha, he knew there was something different about her. She wasn’t some bondage babe who thought she knew what it meant to be into BDSM. She was much, much worse; she was innocent and trusting. He can tell she is something precious.
When Tasha’s past threatens to destroy her, Dylan begins to realize that while their paths have never crossed, their lives most definitely have. Will he be able to save her before it’s too late?

Tasha Skinner has finally done it.  She's finally divorced and rid of her failed marriage once and for all.  To celebrate her best friend Holly decides that it's time to take her our for Leather & Lace night at a club she likes to attend.  Tasha doesn't want to dress in the clothes Holly gives her.  Leaving her wearing a bright white corset, jeans, and red boots that are one size too small.  Determined to have a good time for once in her life, she decides to just go with the flow.

What she didn't expect to find that night was Dylan Caprese.  Dylan is not a fan of Leather & Lace night, but he's determined to keep things from getting out of hand with alcohol and wannabe doms in the mix.  While out of a cigarette break, he encounters a woman standing in line looking lost and it's none other than Tasha.  He approaches her and tells her that she should be prepared for what she will find inside, thinking he's crazy she ignores him.  But once inside, she starts to see things she's never seen before.  Benches to spank people, people wearing next to nothing, and even a person being whipped.  She knows she's out of her element, but decides to let loose and enjoy her first night of freedom.  When she comes out of the bathroom she runs into none other than Dylan again.

Dylan can see that Tasha is not comfortable being there and when he sees the friends who brought her here, he's so upset and knows he must remove her from the club.  He takes her to get a drink and convinces her to leave with him.  Tasha is expecting to find a man who only wants to have sex and leave, but what she doesn't expect to find is a kindhearted man who wants nothing more than to take care of her.  He does just that and nothing more.  He's determined to protect her even though they have only known one another for a short time.  Especially after he brings her home the next day only to discover someone is harassing her.

As time goes on his need to protect her increases as do the threats that are all around her.  Can he not only convince her that he will take care of her but that she belongs to him and in his arms?  Can he find the threats that surround her or will her past resurface and take hold of her before he can fix the broken woman he's falling for?

At first when I started reading this story I was like 'Seriously?  She leaves with him the first night?  There's no way his intentions are as good as he makes them sound to her.'  But the surprising thing is that he was serious.  I loved Dylan.  While he may be a dom, he takes care of those around him and practices his lifestyle in a safe environment in a group called Isthmus Alliance.  I also loved reading about Tommy and Zeke.  Their characters were set up really well for their stories to continue in future books in this series.  While the BDSM in this book was on the light side, I still found it enjoyable and look forward to Unexpected Protector, 4 stars!
