Blog Tour - Addicted To You by Colina Brennan - Review & Giveaway

Addicted to You by Colina Brennan
Publication date: June 25th 2013
Genres: Contemporary, New Adult
When twenty-one-year-old Leah Carter’s latest one night stand burglarizes her apartment, her roommate forces her to attend therapy for sex addicts. Leah insists she isn’t a sex addict; she just doesn’t do relationships. After all, sooner or later, everyone lets you down.

At first, the group sessions are little more than an education on how to be promiscuous. Until she meets the newest addict—blue eyes, killer body, and a smile that tempts relapse.

Psychology student Will McLean is posing as a fellow addict while researching a case study on unusual addictions. But the more he learns about Leah, the more certain he is that his desire to break through her walls and unearth her secrets has nothing to do with his assignment.

As the uncertainties spike alongside the sexual tension, the only thing Leah knows for sure is that falling in love would be disastrous. Too bad love might be one addiction she can’t kick.

Leah Carter has a bad streak with men.  She loves to have one night stands and never look back.  That is until the one that robbed her and her roommate blind.  The guy took everything.  So her roommate tells her that she needs to go to group therapy for addicts for twenty weeks.  That's the agreement she made so she's sticking to it.  Is she a sex addict?  No.

Leah hasn't had an easy life.  In order to have the sibling she's always wanted she had to convince her mother if she had her little brother that she'll take care of him.  So at the age of twelve she took on the responsibility for caring for her younger brother.  When she left for college she had no choice but to leave her brother behind and as much as it breaks her heart, she still visits him everyday to cook him dinner and care for him.  She tries to convince her mother to let her take him since she's the only parent he's ever had, but her mother and father won't listen so she does what she can.

Will McLean is a psychology major that has been tasked with the job of joining none other than the same group sessions that Leah is a member of.  From the very beginning Will has been drawn to Leah.  He does everything he can while there to get to know her, but it's not an easy task when they don't know one another's names.  So even after Leah as completed her roommate's requirement, she continues to go to these sessions just to see Will.

To Leah, Will is different.  He's the only one that seems to be able to get past her barriers.  She doesn't want a relationship, she just wants sex but Will wants so much more than that.  Both are living lies, but only one of them in the end is honest about their reason for being in group therapy.  When the truth comes out can they get past the lies?  Can Will convince Leah that a relationship is worth the risk?

I wanted to love this story, I really did.  When I first read about this book I was expecting not just two people that couldn't resist one another but sex.  For me while this book did have it's good points with the relationship with her brother and the other people in therapy for me a lot of the chemistry that should have been there just wasn't there for me.  It lacked that connection that I really needed to feel.  I will probably upset a lot of people with this review, but my opinion is just that, my opinion.  I rate it 3 stars.
