I grab her exploring finger just as it reaches my happy trail—a trail that if I let her wander down further will lead us to do things we can’t take back. Things like three-word phrases being confessed that would end me if I was rejected. Things like selfishly wanting to own her body and doing things to her that would make my fantasies blush. And things like making her promises too soon that won’t do either of us any good. She makes me want a future that’s not possible, and one I don’t deserve.

Listening to my ego got me into this situation. Will listening to my heart get me out?

S.L. Scott has a degree in Journalism and is the author of the novels—Naturally, Charlie, and A Prior Engagement as well as several novellas, including Sleeping with Mr. Sexy and Morning Glory--all currently available on Amazon. Pursuing her passion for telling stories, she spends her days escaping into her characters, letting them lead her on their adventures. She is a Contributor to Huffington Post and writes for her own blog along with several other popular sites.

Travelling, music festivals, and surfing are a few of the hobbies she loves, but she doesn't get to enjoy on a regular basis. She has an obsession with movies, a varied taste in books, and collects Fitz & Floyd teapots. With a memory full of useless trivia facts, and a Keurig addiction, she loves a fun night in with her family as much as a loud night out with her friends.

Scott lives in the lively city of Austin with her husband, two young sons, and two Papillons, enjoying life in the beautiful hill country of Texas.

When I first picked up this title to read and I looked at the book description while it had me intrigued I pretty much went into this book blind because it didn't really tell me much about it.  Not to mention the fact that the cover had me thinking I was in for another YA novel.  When they say don't judge a book by its cover, they are right and in this case they are right on the money.

At the beginning of the book we meet Mallory.  She's visiting her best friend Sunny in Hawaii because well frankly she needs a break from her life back in Colorado especially after she just broke up with her boyfriend and needs a break.  When she gets off the plane she runs into a young couple kissing goodbye but what strikes her as off is that the girl really seems into the kiss but the guy just doesn't appear to be interested since the entire time he's looking at Mallory.  When Mallory sits outside waiting for her ride the guy introduces himself as Evan and right away I can already smell trouble.  Evan introduces himself and asks if she wants a ride since as luck would have it her friend Sunny is in the hospital.  Evan says he doesn't do relationships he only does fun times and then sends the girls on their way he's open and honest about all of this but Mallory still goes with him anyways and they spend a magical night together.  The next morning it's like the switch turns off and Evan turns into what appears to be the playboy self he claims to be.

Mallory goes about her trip hanging out with Sunny and working at the local diner what she doesn't expect is to have THE same Evan Ashford walk through the door with a group of friends and spend the entire time staring at her.  Try as he might Evan can't get Mallory out of his head and she feels the same way they are drawn to each other like a moth to a flame.  But Mallory also has the attention of another man Noah who as luck would have it just happens to be the ex-friend of her now boyfriend Evan.  Their relationship begins to blossom but will the ex-playboy be able to keep his hand out of the cookie jar?  Not going to tell you... I loved the characters they were fun and lovable and I loved also watching the relationship between Sunny and Evan's friend Zach develop and Kate's relationship had me laughing really hard as well.

Overall this was a great book and when it ended I was like really?!?! I want more then I turned the page only to discover there will be another book coming out.  I look forward to finding out about the secrets that Evan has a what happens with him and Mallory after she has to go back to Colorado for school.  While there is a wait it's well worth it and I find myself thinking...  Where has this author been hiding all this time because I would have started reading her books long before this one.  Well done, 4 stars!
