Gabby and Bradley thought that their pasts would remain dormant, that happiness was theirs for the taking. Still the strongest of relationships can be rocked by the ugliness from a previous life, even if it seems to be a world away. The fact remains an ugly past is never distant. It taints everything it touches, drives permanent rifts between loved ones, and sometimes can ruin everything. Gabby and Bradley must find the only way to battle the past. Forgiveness becomes a light through the darkness, a guide for the lost, and hope for the hopeless. With forgiveness comes bright, new beginnings

Excerpt from Falling (the next book in the series with Ian and Veronica)

I walk into the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit after completing a rigorous scrubbing in type procedure and “gowning up” as they called it. The nurse ushers me to my baby girl’s incubator.  I choke back my tears as I see her for the first time.  She’s not as small as I thought she’d be, but she’s still really tiny.  She’s got tubes going down her nose.  There’s a mask covering her face.  She has all kinds of electrodes connected to her chest.  I want to touch her, but she looks so frail.
“May I hold her?” I ask the nurse.
“Sure.  Have a seat and I’ll place her in your arms for you.”
I sit down and wait for her to put her in my arms.  When she does, there is a pounding in my chest.  I’m a father.  I have a child, and there’s this overwhelming feeling that I can’t deny is the deepest, purest love I’ve ever experienced.  I now understand how my parents could say there is nothing they wouldn’t do for me because I feel that now.  If I could wear all of these tubes and wires for her, I would.  If I could make her struggle easier, I would.  It kills me to know that she’s not okay.
I just wish I was in a room with Veronica holding her together.  I wish that there wasn’t this tension between us.  I wish that we’d not involved Bradley and Gabby.  Stupid, reckless choices have to stop now.   There’s too much at stake.  I don’t think I fully understood before I met her, but I get it now.  I so get it now.
